BIG FAIR FASHION SALE: Up to 40% off!

Why Ethical Fashion?

“Fast fashion isn't free. Someone, somewhere is paying.” — Lucy Siegle.

The fashion industry is a major contributor to global waste climate change and environmental pollution focusing mostly on profit and fast supply chains without any regards for sustainability longevity.

Fast Fashion is wasteful and killing our planet

Fast Fashion is based on a consumption model that can be compared to that of single-use plastic. New fast fashion collections are churned out weekly (!). And at the same time new garments are being discarded after one or two uses. The vast majority ends up in landfills or in an incinerator.

It is estimated that the fashion accounts for global emissions that have a bigger carbon footprint than all international flights and shipping combined.

Not only carbon emissions and waste of textiles are problematic when it comes to fast fashion. Production also causes an enormous negative ecological impact: It takes 10,000 to 20,000 litres of water for example to produce just 1kg of cotton clothing and vast quantities of pesticides (Source).

We want break the vicious circle of the industry. Quality and not quantity is our priority. For us, sustainability means that for a new product, we source the most environmentally friendly materials possible, we aim for shorter transportation distances, reduce or recycle waste, making sure we avoid unnecessary packaging, produce under fair working conditions and work according to a business model that is based on small collections and smaller quantities.
